White County irrigators encouraged to report water usage
Last updated 7/2/20
Owners of high capacity water wells (>100,000 gallons/day) in White County are required to report your water usage to the Illinois State Water Survey (ISWS) per Illinois law. Under the Illinois Water Use Act, agricultural irrigators are allowed to aggregate their data through a unit of local government. The advantage to aggregation is it provides the irrigator some anonymity from public record disclosure of your water usage.
For 2020, White County irrigators are encouraged to report their usage directly to the White County Soil & Water Conservation District office. There will not be an aggregation meeting this year.
SWCD personnel will aggregate your data with other wells in your reporting zone. There are three zones approved for White County… Hawthorne Township, Emma Township and the remainder of the county.
The deadline to submit your aggregation forms to SWCD is November 30, 2020.
